Thermal cameras don't see water — they see temperature differences.
Wet surfaces evaporate and cool, or a hot pipe warms surrounding materials. Either way, water shows as a temperature anomaly.
Thermal imaging is fast and non-invasive but works best combined with moisture meters, tracer gas and acoustic detection.
